The Violated Women's Rights

REPORTAGE FOTOGRAFICO

Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world.  It seems incredible, but Nepal is one of the very few countries in which women's life expectancy is lower than that of men.

Suicide is the most common cause of death for women between the ages of 15 and 49.

A man can ask for citizenship without problems, while a woman needs the recognition of her husband, her father or her older brother otherwise there is no possibility for her to get it.

In fact, the female population has no right to medical care, even when it is newborn or pregnant, and to food.

It is normal for women to eat leftovers from their husbands, siblings and sons in families.

The woman still plays  traditional roles, makes grueling farm work, fixes the roads, works in brick factories, takes care of household chores, children, fetchs water, firewood, animal feed.
